JOHN RAY BARB WILLIAMS Native American Indian Totem Pole Carving Seattle Art LOT Hand Carved Thunderbird Cedar nuu-chah-nalth Tribal Family NW Vancouver Island Rare Set of 3. In the 1880s the Williams’ were among the first artists to canoe down from Canada and sell their craft to the early Seattle curio shops. We are offering three (3) pieces by the Williams: Ray, Barb, & John T. The 1st totem is one of John’s earliest known work; It is a stained 7-7/8 totem that was carved by a 10 year old boy (4th grader) and signed on back. The other two signatures are carved, and barb’s is stamped. Comes from private collection of longtime collector here locally in Portland, OR. Larger sculptures are in exceptional condition. Smaller piece by 10 year old John has age and display wear. Hand signed in pen is very rare. John’s totem measures: 7-7/8″ tall, 1-3/8″ wide, 1-1/4 depth (varying depth). Platform base is 2-7/8″ by 2-5/8″. Ray’s totem measures: 10-1/8″ tall, 9-5/8″ wing span, 1-3/8 depth. Platform is 2-1/4″ by 3-3/8″. Barb’s totem measures: 8-1/2″ tall, 8-3/8″ wing span, 1-3/4 depth. Platform is 2-1/8″ by 2-1/4″. I use a white backdrop in an effort to represent the item clearly, but colors can be slightly different in different lighting or objects may appear smaller/larger. Sometimes I can even get an item out the same day. I always offer the fastest method at the lowest price! Upgrading to a faster method is typically just a few more dollars. Items are always taken into consideration when being packaged- breakables or sensitive materials are bubble wrapped and sleeved or insulated in a box. Less sensitive items are usually wrapped and placed in a bubble-mailer or box. I do my best to describe items, but I can miss details. Ask questions and use the photos to supplement information I provide. I appreciate your time in fully reading this description!
