VINTAGE NATIVE AMERICAN SIOUX PLAINS INDIAN HUDSON BAY TOMAHAWK PIPE. This Tomahawk came from a large ethnographic collection along with several other items. It was collected in 1957 from the Great Lakes. These tomahawks were used by the Hudson Bay company to trade with the Native American Indians for Furs. If you meet a warrior with a tomahawk and he holds the head up then keep clear, however if he holds the handle up it is an invitation to join him for a smoke on the pipe. Please check photos carefully, the original collection label can still be seen.
