Rare Tiny California Pomo Indian Feather Basket Native American Miniature #6
O ffered is an exquisite and rare miniature California Pomo Indian Feather Basket from the early 20th Century. This little basket measures just under 1 1/4″ across and 1/2″ tall. Weaving is exquisite and the quail feathers are beautiful. A few have come off on one side or are attached in a way that shows the basket behind, but the basket displays beautifully despite this. Most of the items we sell come from our personal collection gathered over the years from our travels, from Native powwows and craft stores, antique shops, auctions and estate sales. Now that our kids are in college and beyond, we are letting some items go so others can enjoy them. Then I’ll send you a combined invoice. Sorry for the expense, but I’ve had items lost overseas when mailing first class and don’t want to take the risk of losing items. I pack carefully and try to reuse materials to save on environmental impact. I reuse all that I receive and hope you will make use of the ones that come in your packages. The item “Rare Tiny California Pomo Indian Feather Basket Native American Miniature #6″ is in sale since Sunday, September 29, 2019. Fine Small Northern California Hupa Karuk Yurok Indian Basket Native American
Offered is a very finely woven California Hupa, Karok, Yurok Native American basket. This is a small, cup-size basket, measuring just 2 3/4″ across and 1 3/4″ tall. It is the work of a master weaver. Unfortunately, I don’t have information on the weaver of this one. It came from a collection out of Arizona. The previous owner dated it to the 1930s, but it seems to be more modern than that (because of the excellent color retention). There is a bit of roughness where basket finishes at rim. It’s possible a bit of rim is missing, but no breaks or cracks other than one pinhole. This is a beautiful little basket, which is a little difficult to let go! Then I’ll send you a combined invoice. Sorry for the expense, but I’ve had items lost overseas when mailing first class and don’t want to take the risk of losing items.
