Captivating, yet simple, this Beaver measures 7″ L x appx 3″ W (see images to hand work) and has a 34″ circumference beaded necklace of stunning glass Indian Trade beads, matched in color along each of the two 17″ sides of the necklace string. Original twine as well and as shown. The Beaver has the HB mark on its back and towards the tail appears to be three hallmarks please see close up image, will research and add more info as found on hallmarks… One is a crown… Others as shown thus far! There is minimal tarnish as shown above and none underneath. There are no bends, dents, cracks, breaks etc to the Beaver… Just normal wear but considering its age… The beads are worn as they should be, showing age and us… The color combination on this necklace is magnificent, and highly attractive as shown. Mounted in a glass top casing that someone lined to display this fabulous historical beauty. Pins to the side of the case pull out easily for access to the necklace. Case measures 16.25 x 12.25 inches and is 1 deep. I know little of this type of item, but fell in love once I saw this in searching for collectible treasures and have leaned quite a bit through researching the Hudson Bay Company. I suspect this Beaver ranks right up there in the Hudson Bay collectible effigy necklaces… Find it very exciting to have found such an unusual Native American piece… Especially as this Beaver is just not often found anywhere other than in a museum and perhaps in a few prized collection… I know no history on this particular piece other than I was mesmerized by it, its history and had to get it to pass along to a even more appreciative individual… Fully guarantee it is authentic… There is not doubt of its origin and age. Any information out there would be much appreciated and pass along.. Guaranteed as Shown & Described Always… The item “Antique Hudson Bay Copper Beaver Necklace Fur Trading Co Native Indian Beads EXC” is in sale since Saturday, March 14, 2020. Native American Indian Original Oil painting HUDSON BAY Western ART Trapper CREE
Native American Cree Trapper with Hudson Bay Colors. Out of the vision he spoke. 11×14 oil on Wood Panel. Signed and dated by artist. My Art work is high quality work. Each piece is done with care and emotion. Follow me on instagram, laurelle_macy_studio to find the meaning behind this work. This painting is about be still and pay attention. The color and brush stroke is rich. The rich texture and a close crop makes this painting alive and engaging. The compelling color and the emotional charge make this painting personal. This is Professional quality oil painting. It is one of a kind. It calls up the spirit of American History, the frontier, the west, and those who are a free spirit. This work has visible brush strokes, full bodied and is alive. There are earth tones in each painting so that it fits in on any wall. Laurelle Macy grew up on a farm in northern Canada. Endless in its dimensions, untamed in its spirit, curious in its isolation, to Laurelle it is this and more. It is the stuff of passion, of creation, of timeless inspiration. Macys relationship with the land and its people is a seasoned one. Raised in a series of bush camps, Indian reservations and boom towns in Canadas North West Territories, Macy understood early on, that her paintings could act as windows to a world little seen by others, but well known and loved by her. Laurelle first obtained her Associates in Adverting Design. She worked as a graphic designer before moving on to get her Bachelors in art at Brigham Young University. After returning to the north Laurelle enjoyed success in a number of galleries, festival and commissions. Her and her family moved to Utah where she completed her masters degree at the University of Idaho and has been actively involved in advanced design education at the college level. Laurelles major talent lies in her portrayal of what she calls living material. The centerpieces of her artwork are native people, landscapes, and wildlife, all arrestingly alive in her paintings. Macys refinement of detail is engaging and her love of color apparent, at times immediate and aggressive, at others subtle and leading. Macy experience with color and composition seems to reflect the very personality of her subjects. To see her paintings and feel somehow touched by an open genuine spirit. This singular connection between the viewer and the subject is Macys desire. To paint the west, its people, animals and its landscape with compassion and insight, she hopes is her success. Laurelle Macys work has been shown in galleries across Northern Canada and in select studios in Utah. In addition to her work, Macy is faculty a national art institute, has illustrated childrens books, portrait painter and is a 3 time grant recipient celebrating northern native people. Her diverse career, where she worked along side Dene Nation elders and Inuit carvers, to the cutting edge world of graphic design gives her tremendous understanding and perspective. An artist of unquestionable talent with yet untapped potential. Macy is certainly someone to watch for. VINTAGE NATIVE AMERICAN SIOUX PLAINS INDIAN HUDSON BAY TOMAHAWK PIPE. This Tomahawk came from a large ethnographic collection along with several other items. It was collected in 1957 from the Great Lakes. These tomahawks were used by the Hudson Bay company to trade with the Native American Indians for Furs. If you meet a warrior with a tomahawk and he holds the head up then keep clear, however if he holds the handle up it is an invitation to join him for a smoke on the pipe.
