Southwestern Native American Indian Turquoise Sterling Silver Bead Necklace
Vintage Native American Indian turquoise Sterling silver bead necklace, unmarked, but most likely Navajo. This old beauty showcases 7 high-grade blue turquoise stones with light colored matrices. The elongated cabochons are nicely polished, and set in scalloped bezels wrapped in silver rope on a highly oxidized setting with raised borders. The pendants’ design resembles flowers. The pendants have a tube-bead bale, and are therefore very secure. The necklace has 3/4″ long tube beads with a 1/4″bench-made bead in between them. Superb stones and craftsmanship! The total weight of this piece is approximately 77.5 grams, and it measures 22 1/4 from hook to eye. The tallest pendant is 1 11/16″ tall including the loop, the others decrease in size the farther they are from the center, down to 1 1/4″. The width of the main pendant is about 1″ wide, and tapers to 13/16″ on the end pendants. The tallest stone is 1 1/16″ by 1/2″ wide, from bezel to bezel, and the stones decrease in size as the pendants’ settings. This piece has a nice light patina.
