This large Pit River basket is decorated with geometric designs around the basket. It uniquely shows the remains of the weaver’s thread used during construction to keep the shape of the basket while the materials are expertly worked. Typically these treads are then removed however this weaver for some reason did not complete the task. This is a rare and great example to show part of the weaving process not normally seen after the basket is completed. Circa: 1910 Diameter: 10″ Height: 9″.
