1843 History of King Philips War Native American INDIAN Warfare Tactics Church. Thomas Churchs History of Philips War is one of the most reliable and important accounts of King Philips War, or the First Indian War. Beginning in 1675, Native Indians to the New England area and the Pilgrim colonists fought until the Treaty of Casco Bay three years later. In addition to Philips War, Church covers the French and Indian Wars, including King Williams War, fought at the end of the 17. The reliability of Thomas Churchs account comes directly from his father Benjamins notes and experiences in the wars themselves. Benjamin Church was a military ranger during King Philips War who was known to design his army movements to emulate that of Indian warfare tactics. Collation: Complete with all pages.
