An amazing pair of Lakota Sioux beaded moccasins. Tanned hide, most assuredly Elk or Deer. Believed to be a pair that has slipped out of the impressive Paul Dyke collection, however no provenance of such exists. Nevertheless, these are assuredly Museum Quality. The skillset involved in the phenomenal symmetry of the geometric symbols is quite impressive. These moccasins were worn by a sizable Native American. I would not have wanted to mess with him! They are 11 in length, quite large for the average. The large geometric symbol I believe represents the Medicine Man’s eye, and centered is a cross, representing paths crossing. I do not believe there is a single bead missing. Sinew sewn, and done impressively at that. An asset to any collector, and my vision is for these to got a Museum where they will be forever cherished and preserved for posterity. Please use/rely on the pictures as your guide to condition. All items I sell are pre-owned and exhibit signs of wear commensurate with age. If I provide a condition report it is based on my interpretation, and is subjective. Your idea of condition may differ from mine, so please do not hesitate to inquire about the cosmetic and working condition of the item in question. Everything I offer is being offered as pictured. I make a concerted effort to provide good quality pictures, so if there is something that you need to see, and not shown in any of my pictures, do not hesitate to message me.
