This Extra Large Belt Buckle was made by a talented Navajo artist using a Large and Natural Royston, Nevada Mine Turquoise stone that has lots of character and color! It is stamp signed with a hallmark “JMR” depicting the maker, and it is also stamped “STERLING” on reverse of the buckle, and it is guaranteed to be Sterling Silver. Unfortunately, I have been unable to identify the maker by name. My guess, based on a number of factors, is that it may have been made between 1970 and 1990. There is almost no tarnish on this old buckle. The Gem Royston Mine Turquoise Stone is really the story here and this dramatic Turquoise stone is magnificent! The wonderful design, with its semi-oval shape, and Stamped accents are understated, and also worth examining in the magnified pictures! I love the way the artist “built up” the design with what may be a unique stamping treatment that is accented by the “Ropework” and super fancy saw toothed bezel. The hardware on the back is fine too! If you are looking for a great look in a very Large Navajo belt buckle with a magnificent Turquoise stone, I believe it will please you..
