Ancient Paleo Indian Native American Stone Tool Unique Hand Crafted Artifact

ANCIENT ARTIFACT – PALEO INDIAN NATIVE AMERICAN STONE TOOL – UNIQUE, FINELY HAND CRAFTED ARTIFACT – RARE FIND – FROM MICHIGAN. Here’s a genuine original Native American Paleo Indian Stone Tool. Made of grey granite, It has a vain of darker color granite, like a stain, running through it. This can be seen in the photos. This is a small tool that appears to have been designed for some sort of hand hammering or pounding, and possibly grinding, work. It was possibly designed for use by a woman for domestic chores such as food preparation. This tool is finely hand crafted. It features two striking ends. One end has a flat curved surface with a polished finish. The opposite end features two bluntly pointed projections, one of them being slightly more pointed than the other. This tool measures 3 1/8 inches long, by 2 1/2 inches wide (between the tips of the two pointed sections located on one end), and 1 inch thick (on the curved end). It weighs 4.3 ounces. This artifact was discovered by my father, Edward K. Rolffs, at Crooked Lake, Texas Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, in the mid 1930’s (it was sometime between 1935-39, but probably closer to 1935). The GPS for the location is 42 degrees, 20 minutes North, and 85 degrees, 71 minutes West. Rolffs discovered this item while excavating beneath his home, a small lake cottage, to add a basement. The discovery site is on a raised embankment overlooking Crooked Lake. Rolffs dug in from the side of the embankment to create a basement space under his home. The means of excavation was a shovel and wheel barrel (he was a young and very strong man)! He found this artifact as he was hand digging his basement. If he had used an excavating machine, or hired the work done, quite possibly the artifact may not have been discovered. This Ancient Artifact is Quite Unique and VERY RARE. It’s unlike any other stone tool that I’ve been able to find in many extensive on-line searches. I’ve been unable to find any stone tool with design features and detailing that equal the features of this piece! Most stone tools are quite plain and non descript. Many look like just chunks of stone. Obviously a lot of thought went into the design of this tool. It was purposefully and carefully shaped. It possesses unique design features. As illustrated in photos 2 – 6, it can be employed in three different ways depending upon how it is held. This Ancient Stone Tool is very unique and unusual! Please feel free to ask questions. PLEASE NOTE: I HAVE RECEIVED THREE INQUIRIES ABOUT THIS ITEM. THE “SEND” BUTTON DOES NOT WORK. WHEN I TYPE A RESPONSE TO AN INQUIRY AND HIT THE “SEND BUTTON, ” NOTHING HAPPENS.
