Fine Paiute Washoe Indian Beaded Basket Native American Basketry Lovely Design
Offered is a stunning Paiute Washoe Beaded Basket. This came with a lot of baskets that included beaded baskets by the Delorme family–Norm, Celia, and Bernadine. This one did not have a note identifying the maker, but you can tell someone very talented made the basket, so I assume it was made by someone in that family or the extended family, like Rebecca Eagle. It measures 2 7/8″ across and 1 3/4″ tall. There are a few tiny gaps–perhaps as made or a broken bead. None are actively loose or appear to have been lost. Please look at all pictures to appreciate this beautiful basket. A note: We’re all healthy here and are isolated and washing hands regularly. If you’re worried just leave your packages in a garage or porch area for a few days before opening. Thanks and be well. Most of the items we sell come from our personal collection gathered over the years from our travels, from Native powwows and craft stores, antique shops, auctions and estate sales. Now that our kids are in college and beyond, we are letting some items go so others can enjoy them. Then I’ll send you a combined invoice. Sorry for the expense, but I’ve had items lost overseas when mailing first class and don’t want to take the risk of losing items. I pack carefully and try to reuse materials to save on environmental impact. I often double-box items with smaller gift boxes collected from various thrift stores. I reuse all that I receive and hope you will make use of the ones that come in your packages. The item “Fine Paiute Washoe Indian Beaded Basket Native American Basketry Lovely Design” is in sale since Sunday, October 11, 2020. Offered is a stunning, large (5 1/2″ across, 4 1/4″ tall) Tsimshian Native American or First Nation Cedar Basket with a fancy false embroidery design of arrows. This is a basket that I find difficult to let go, which is why I’m starting it higher than I usually do. It came with a lot of Alaskan/Northern Canadian baskets, some of which were made by Loa Ryan, an award-winning Tsimshian basket maker from British Columbia. I don’t know if she made this one as it didn’t have a tag included by her, but clearly a talented basket maker made this beautiful piece. Please look at all pictures so you can appreciate the artistry and excellent condition. A note: We’re all healthy here and are isolated and washing hands regularly.
