This superbly executed oil on board is titled on a plaque on the frame and in pencil on the verso dust cover: “High Plains Encampment”. It features three tepees with garments drying on racks and four Native Americans and a saddled horse. Painting is signed lower right “Gene Speck 97″, as well as on the dust cover. 8″ x 10″ in its original frame with gilded and linen liner which measures: 14 1/2″ x 16 1/2″. Gene Speck, born in 1937 in South Dakota, continues to paint his somewhat hyper realistic and nostalgic paintings of the Great Plains. Several scratches with minimal paint loss (visible as indentations), mostly obvious in the light sky. A note about packing : Check our feedback. We take pride in our excellent packing.
