Old Authentic Yokuts Native American Central California Indian stone mortar and pestle. This set comes from the collection of my husband, who has been collecting for over 50 years. The Mortar & Pestle are from Merced County, in the California central valley. Basalt with pink color from mineralization. The bowl measures about 9-1/2″ at highest point and about 9″ at widest. Nice deep hole about 5-1/2 deep, from bottom of bowl to highest side. The inside has calcification. I see no cracks. The bowl weighs 26lbs 11oz on my postal scale. Measures about 7-1/4 long. The pestle weighs 2lbs 14oz on my postal scale.
