These Blackfoot children listen intently as their grandfather speaks; later, when they have grandchildren of their own, the listeners will be the storytellers, keeping their oral history alive. Howard practically swept the awards at the annual Cowboy Artists of America exhibition in 1998. His works took the gold in the categories of Oil, Water Solubles and Drawing, and Other Media.
